The online video industry is in a state of flux, with companies like YouTube and Facebook vying to dominate the market. This week, both TVision and Vibe announced their decision to shut down and start cutting back on their streaming services. These changes in the industry will leave some users questioning what they should do next.
Vimeo announced YouTube TV, making it easier for people to switch over from traditional cable. With competition mounting, they are not the only ones on the market trying to bring live content into their homes.
TVision Live & Vibe has been replaced with YouTube TV and Philo. Users will now have to find their favorite channels on the YouTube TV website or on the app.
T-Mobile is allowing existing customers to replace their TVision Live and Vibe TV streaming subscriptions with a discounted YouTube TV and Philo bundle. T-live Mobile’s TV service was just launched in October of last year, but it now seems that the competition, as well as the service’s issues since its launch, have been too much.
TVision had not yet made its formal debut. Although it is available, it is only available to current T-Cell subscribers who add the live TV service to their existing cell plan. The initial plan was to make the service available to all clients in the United States in a timely manner, but that has subsequently changed.
T-Mobile has stated that its TVision plans will be phased out over the next several years. As a consequence, new users will no longer be able to access TVision Live, Live+, or Live Zone. The $10 per month option will also be phased out at the same time. The exact date on which all of these services will be phased down is April 29, 2021.
While TVision’s goods would no longer be available on T-Mobile plans, the company did announce a new partnership with YouTube TV and Philo. T-Mobile is now seeking to give a similar live TV streaming experience to its customers, although via third-party solutions.
The services provided by T-new Mobile and how they operate
T-Mobile is now offering existing customers a $10 discount on a live TV streaming subscription to either YouTube TV or Philo instead of TVision Live or Vibe. T-Mobile customers may subscribe to YouTube TV for $54.99 per month (rather than $64.99 per month) or Philo for $10 per month (rather than $20 per month).
Current T-Mobile consumers could find this to be a much better option. TVision Live was still a new service at the time, and many things were broken. They get far better service for a lot less money with YouTube TV than non-T-Mobile customers. Similarly, Philo is expected to provide a better service for the same price as TVision Vibe. This does not, however, indicate that anybody who isn’t a T-Mobile user should stop waiting for TVision Live (or Vibe) to be released.
This information comes from T-Mobile.
The “tvision live vs live” is a topic that has been circulating for quite some time. The TVision service will be replaced with YouTube TV and Philo in the near future.
